- General Principles
Processing of Personal Data
Primarily, we process personal data that we collect during the operation of our website or other applications, or that we obtain from our customers, other business partners, and other involved persons within the scope of our business relationship.
We primarily collect your personal data directly from you. Under certain circumstances, we may also receive personal data about you from third parties. These data may include the following categories:
- Information from publicly available sources (e.g., media, internet)
- Information from public registers (e.g., commercial register, debt enforcement register, land register)
- Information in connection with official or judicial proceedings
- Information regarding your professional functions and activities
- Information about you in correspondence and meetings with third parties
- Creditworthiness information (to the extent that we conduct personal business with you)
- Information about you provided to us by individuals in your environment to enable us to conclude or process contracts with you (e.g., references, your address for deliveries, powers of attorney, information on compliance with legal requirements, information from banks, insurance companies, sales, and other contractual partners)
- Information from media and the internet about you (to the extent necessary in the specific case, e.g., in the context of an application, press review, marketing, sales, etc.)
- Data in connection with the use of the website (e.g., IP address, MAC address of the smartphone or computer, information about your device and settings, cookies, date and time of visit, accessed pages and content, used functions, referring websites, location data)
Purposes and Legal Bases of Data Processing
We process your data only for specified purposes and only in legally permissible cases. Below you will find the individual data processing operations on our website, along with their purposes and legal bases for data processing.
The following may serve as legal bases:
- Your consent;
- The performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures;
- Compliance with legal obligations;
- Our legitimate interests, provided that your interests or fundamental rights do not override them;
- To protect your vital interests or those of another person, or for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest;
- Other relevant legal bases.
You will find a reference to the legal bases for the respective processing operations.
If you have given us your consent to process your personal data for specific purposes, we will process your data within the scope of this consent, unless we have another legal basis. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Data processing that has already taken place remains unaffected.
Data Disclosure
In the course of providing our services and making our website available, we may rely on the services of third parties. In this context, we may commission third parties to process your personal data. In such cases, we contractually ensure that these third parties comply with data protection requirements. Under certain circumstances, we may also be obliged to disclose your data to authorities or other third parties.
We only disclose your personal data if one of the following conditions is met:
- Your consent has been obtained;
- there is a legal obligation;
- if this is necessary to enforce our rights, particularly to assert claims arising from the contractual relationship;
- if this is necessary for the performance of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures;
- if we have a legitimate interest in doing so and your opposing interests do not override it;
- if another legal permission exists.
Under certain circumstances, in the context of commissioned processing, your personal data may also be transferred to companies abroad. These companies are obliged to protect data to the same extent as we are. If the level of data protection in the country to which data is transferred does not correspond to that of Switzerland or the European Union, we contractually ensure that the same protection as in Switzerland or the European Union is guaranteed. This can be achieved through standard data protection clauses of the European Commission or a supervisory authority, or approved and authorized codes of conduct together with binding and enforceable commitments of the recipient, or approved certification mechanisms together with binding and enforceable commitments of the recipient.
If data is transferred to a company in the USA, we ensure that this company is certified according to the Swiss- or EU-US Privacy Shield Agreement, thereby ensuring that the EU’s data protection level is maintained. If certification is missing, we obtain the necessary guarantees contractually.
Retention Period
We store personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the individual purposes for which the data was collected. We store contract data longer, as we are obliged to do so by legal regulations. Such retention obligations arise from regulations on reporting law, accounting, and tax law. According to these regulations, business communications, concluded contracts, and accounting records must be retained for up to 10 years. If we no longer require such data from you for the provision of services, the data will be blocked. In this case, we will only use the data for accounting and tax purposes.
Data Security
We take data security very seriously and employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. We continuously improve our security measures in line with technological developments.
Within our website, we use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) procedure in conjunction with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. You can recognize whether an individual page of our website is transmitted encrypted by the closed padlock symbol in your browser’s status bar.
Obligation to Provide Certain Personal Data
Under certain circumstances, you are obliged to provide us with certain personal data in order to enter into business relationships. This includes personal data required for establishing and conducting a business relationship and fulfilling the corresponding contractual obligations. Without such data, we are usually unable to conclude a contract with you (or the entity or person you represent).
The website usually cannot be used if certain information necessary to ensure data traffic (such as the IP address) is not disclosed.
Profiling
In part, your personal data is processed automatically to evaluate certain personal aspects (so-called profiling). We use profiling, in particular, to inform and advise you specifically about certain services or products we offer. For this purpose, we use evaluation tools that enable us to communicate in a needs-oriented manner and to take appropriate advertising measures, including market and opinion research.
Your Rights
You have the right to receive information from us about which personal data concerning you is stored. Additionally, you can request the correction of inaccurate data or apply for the deletion of personal data, provided that no legal retention obligations or legal grounds permitting processing prevent this. Furthermore, under certain circumstances, you can request the restriction of processing of your personal data or object to it. You also have the right to request the data you have provided to us back from us (right to data portability). You have the right to receive the data in a common file format. We have already informed you about the possibility of withdrawing your consent earlier and in connection with the respective data processing operations.
We would like to point out that the exercise of your rights may be subject to legal restrictions under certain circumstances. We reserve the right to assert these, for example, if we are obliged to retain or process certain data, have an overriding interest in doing so (insofar as we are permitted to invoke this), or require them for the assertion of claims. Please note that the exercise of your rights may, under certain circumstances, conflict with contractual agreements and may have corresponding effects on the performance of the contract (e.g., premature termination of contract or cost implications). Where this is not already contractually regulated, we will inform you in advance.
The exercise of your rights requires you to prove your identity (e.g., by means of a copy of an ID, if your identity cannot be otherwise established). Should any costs arise for you, we will inform you in advance.
If you are affected by the processing of personal data, you have the right to enforce your rights judicially or to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Changes
We are entitled to amend this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. The current version published on our website shall apply.
- Individual Data Processing Operations
Provision of the Website and Creation of Log Files
When you access our website, the site provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files that your browser transmits to us. These include:
- Server name
- IP address
- Operating system
- Device type
- Browser name and version
- Date and time of the server request
This data cannot be assigned to a specific person, and this data is not merged with other data sources. The log files are stored to guarantee the functionality of the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. This constitutes our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
The data is stored only for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. Accordingly, the data is deleted after each session ends. The storage of log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website; therefore, you have no possibility to object to it.
Use of Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored on your device’s operating system with the help of the browser when you access our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit. This allows us to save certain settings (such as language settings or location information) so that you do not have to re-enter them when you revisit the website.
We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. The use of cookies and the associated processing of your data is based on our legitimate interests in the aforementioned purposes in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Right to Object
The cookies are stored on your computer. You therefore have full control over the use of cookies. You can delete them completely or deactivate or restrict their transmission by changing the settings in your browser. If cookies are deactivated for our website, not all functions of the website may be fully usable.
Use of Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google uses cookies that are stored on your device and enable an analysis of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, such as browser type, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address, and time of the server request, is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address transmitted by your browser in this context is not merged with other Google data. Furthermore, we have added the code “anonymizeIP” to Google Analytics on this website. This ensures that all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google may transfer this information to third parties if legally required or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. The Privacy Shield Agreement applies to the USA. Google is certified according to this agreement.
With Google Analytics, Google uses the data on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide us with other services related to website and internet usage. The use of Google Analytics is based on our legitimate interests in analyzing customer behavior on our website, which enables us to improve our services, and is supported by Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Right to Object
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also deactivate Google Analytics by downloading and installing the browser add-on at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
On our website, we use Google Analytics with the functions of Universal Analytics. This allows us to analyze the activities of our website across devices (e.g., if access occurs via laptop and later via smartphone). This is made possible by the pseudonymous assignment of a user ID to a user. This happens, for example, when you register for a customer account or log in to your customer account. No personal data is forwarded to Google. The additional functions of Universal Analytics do not restrict the previously mentioned data protection measures, such as IP address anonymization or the possibility to object to the use of Google Analytics.
The data collected within the scope of Google Analytics is stored for as long as necessary for the analysis of the website. At the latest after a period of 50 months, the data is automatically deleted.
Use of Hotjar
On our website, we use Hotjar, an analytics software from Hotjar Ltd. (“Hotjar”) (http://www.hotjar.com, 3 Lyons Range, 20 Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta, Europe). Hotjar allows us to measure and evaluate user behavior on our website in the form of clicks, mouse movements, scroll depth, etc.
The following information is collected by Hotjar:
- The IP address of your device (collected and stored in an anonymized format)
- Your email address, including your first and last name, insofar as you have provided it to us via our website
- Screen size of your device
- Device type and browser information
- Geographical location (country only)
- The preferred language to display our website
Furthermore, the following data is logged on our server when using Hotjar:
- Referring domain
- Pages visited
- Geographical location (country only)
- The preferred language to display our website
- Date and time of website access
The information generated by the “tracking code” and the “cookie” is transmitted to and stored on Hotjar servers in Ireland.
Hotjar uses this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports, and to provide other services related to website usage and internet analysis. Hotjar also uses services from third-party companies, such as Google Analytics and Optimizely, to provide its services. These third-party providers may store information that your browser sends during your website visit, such as cookies or IP requests. For more information on how Google Analytics and Optimizely store and use data, please refer to their respective privacy policies.
The use of Hotjar is based on the legal grounds of our legitimate interests in analyzing customer behavior on our website, which enables us to improve our services, and is supported by Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
The cookies used by Hotjar have different storage durations. Some remain stored for up to 365 days, while others are only valid during the current visit.
Right to object
You can prevent Hotjar from collecting data by clicking on the following link and following the instructions there: https://www.hotjar.com/opt-out.
Use of Google Remarketing
Our website uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. For this purpose, we work with Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This function allows advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This means that interest-based, personalized advertising messages, which were adapted to you based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (e.g., mobile phone), can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., tablet or PC). A linking of the web and app browser history with your Google account for this purpose only occurs if you have given your corresponding consent.
To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs, which are temporarily linked with our Google Analytics data. This allows us to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.
The aggregation of collected data in your Google account is based on the legal grounds of your consent, which you can give or revoke with Google, and is therefore supported by Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. For data collection processes that are not aggregated in your Google account (e.g., because you do not have a Google account or have objected to the aggregation), the data collection is based on our legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior and the display of user-related advertising, and is supported by Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Right to object
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser accordingly. Furthermore, you can object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalized advertising in your Google account via the following link (https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/).
Further information and the privacy policy can be found in Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
Newsletter
On our website, you have the option to subscribe to a free newsletter. The newsletter provides you with information on news, events, and offers. By subscribing to the newsletter, the data you provide in the input mask, such as your email address, will be transmitted to and stored by us.
Subscription to our newsletter only occurs after you receive an email in which you confirm your email address via a link. This ensures that no one can subscribe with a third-party email address.
Your email address is collected for newsletter delivery. Any additional personal data serves to prevent misuse of the services or the email address used. By submitting the newsletter subscription, you give your consent to data processing in the context of newsletter delivery. You agree that a newsletter will be sent regularly to the specified email address and that, if applicable, user behavior may be statistically evaluated to optimize the newsletter. Your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR thus serves as the legal basis. We are entitled to pass on your data to third parties for the purpose of technical processing of the newsletter.
The data you have provided to us in connection with your newsletter subscription will be stored for the duration of your subscription to the newsletter. If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, your data will continue to be stored for as long as necessary to register your unsubscription.
Right to object
You can revoke your consent for newsletter delivery at any time with future effect and unsubscribe via a link in the newsletter. This will prevent you from receiving further newsletter emails.

The data you submit to us is used solely to process your inquiry. The legal bases are the implementation of pre-contractual measures according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, as well as our legitimate interests in processing the inquiry according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
We store your data only for as long as necessary to process your inquiry or as long as we are legally obliged to do so.
You have the option to contact us by email. If you contact us by email, the following data will be processed:
- Email address
- Content of your email
- Subject of your email
- Date
- Contact details provided by you (e.g., first name, last name, possibly phone number, address)
Your information will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any follow-up questions. The legal bases are pre-contractual measures according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, or our legitimate interests in processing the inquiry according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
We store your data only for as long as necessary to process your inquiry or as long as we are legally obliged to do so.
We would like to point out that emails can be read or altered without authorization and unnoticed during transmission. Emails may be rejected by the spam filter if they have been identified as spam due to certain characteristics.
Registration on our website
On our website, you have the option to register and create a login. In this case, we collect and store the data you provide in the input mask, such as your name, email address, etc. Registering for the login area allows you to have password-protected direct access to your basic data stored with us. Furthermore, this allows you to access our services in the login area and use corresponding functions (e.g., viewing your orders or managing your personal data).
Your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR serves as the legal basis for the use of your data within the login. You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect. Data processing carried out until your revocation is not affected by the revocation.
We are entitled to inform you about news, offers, or events. Our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serve as the legal basis for this. You can object to receiving such information at any time with future effect.
Google Web Fonts
On our website, we use so-called Web Fonts provided by Google (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) for the uniform display of fonts. When you access one of our pages, your browser loads the necessary Web Fonts into its browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you use establishes a connection to Google’s servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes our legitimate interests, which serve as the legal basis for data processing according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The Privacy Shield Agreement applies to the transfer of data to the USA.
If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.
Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
